Even though it lacks some of the elements that are classic to the genre, most of the key ones are present in there. While Carrion is basically a 2D scrolling game, you could actually say it's a washed-down version of a Metroidvania. But to reveal it you'll have to explore the world of carrion nicely. And while the plot itself ends up being not particularly original, the gameplay makes up for it at least.
